About the Association of Moss Artists

The Association of Moss Artists is an emerging platform dedicated to advancing moss as a contemporary artistic medium.

Our mission is to support artists exploring moss through fine art, sculpture, installation, storytelling, and experimental creative practice while fostering greater dialogue around the artistic potential of natural materials.

As moss art continues to grow in visibility, much of the public conversation remains centered around decor trends and biophilic design. The Association of Moss Artists seeks to expand that conversation by creating space for deeper artistic exploration, critical discussion, exhibitions, education, and community building.

We envision a future where moss art is recognized not simply as decorative craft, but as a legitimate and evolving contemporary art form capable of carrying meaning, memory, emotion, and cultural dialogue.

Through future symposiums, exhibitions, artist conversations, and collaborative initiatives, the Society aims to connect artists, collectors, designers, curators, and supporters interested in the evolving landscape of moss-based art.

About the Founder

Sekelle Nathan is the founder of the Association of Moss Artists and the artist behind J.O.A.T. Artworks / Decor Appeal. Her work uses preserved moss, natural textures, sculptural surfaces, and mixed media to create fine art rooted in story, memory, place, and emotional connection. Through the Association of Moss Artists, she is building a field-focused platform designed to benefit moss artists and the broader arts community by advancing moss as a fine art medium through exhibitions, education, business training, mentorship, shared professional language, and greater visibility within the art world.
